A Literature Survey of Image Descriptors in Content Based Image Retrieval
Abstract / Description
This paper presents a literature survey on image descriptors in Content Based Image Retrieval (CBIR). It explores how image descriptors support the automatic description, classification and retrieval of digital images based on visual features such as color, texture, shape and motion. The study reviews the chronological development of image descriptor techniques and examines their role in improving CBIR system performance. It contributes to understanding state-of-the-art approaches in multimedia information retrieval and highlights the importance of descriptor-based methods for managing growing volumes of digital visual content.
